Seanez, Rangers reach agreement

Saturday March 29, 2003

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Pitcher Rudy Seanez agreed to a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on Friday.

Seanez, a right-hander who was a non-roster invitee to spring training, strained his right groin on Tuesday and will open the season either at Triple-A Oklahoma or Double-A Frisco. He will remain in Surprise, Ariz., at the team's spring training facility, to rehabilitate. Once recovered, he will be assigned to a minor league club.

The Rangers also assigned left-handed pitcher Doug Davis outright to Oklahoma.
