Wilson leaves game with hand injury

Sunday September 28, 2003

SAN DIEGO (AP) Colorado Rockies center fielder Preston Wilson left Saturday night's game against San Diego after injuring his right hand while making a diving catch in the sixth inning.

With a runner on first, the Padres' Sean Burroughs hit a ball over Wilson's head in center. Wilson ran back and made the catch as dove near the warning track.

Wilson threw the ball back into the infield, then sat on the grass for a few minutes while holding his right hand. He was replaced by Rene Reyes.
