LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (AP) Jake Peavy struck out 10 and threw
six scoreless innings, and the San Diego Padres beat their Class A
affiliate, the Lake Elsinore Storm, 8-0 Saturday night.
Mark Kotsay and Sean Burroughs each had RBI singles during a
four-run third inning, while Xavier Nady added a solo homer in the
second.
Keith Lockhart also hit a two-run single for San Diego.
The Padres open the season Monday at home against the San
Francisco Giants.
