LAS VEGAS (AP) Brian Jordan homered and Fred McGriff hit a
two-run double in the sixth inning to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers
past the Colorado Rockies 5-3 Thursday night.
McGriff's double to center off reliever Nelson Cruz scored the
tying and go-ahead runs. Shawn Green, batting in front of McGriff,
hit an RBI double that knocked out Rockies starter Jason Jennings,
who took the loss.
Jordan hit a solo home run to left in the fifth, the first hit
off Jennings.
Los Angeles starter Odalis Perez went 5 2-3 innings, allowing
three runs two earned and six hits. He struck out eight and
walked one.
Perez, who made his final appearance of spring training, is
scheduled to start at Arizona next Tuesday.
Jennings, last season's NL Rookie of the Year, allowed four
runs, three hits and three walks in five-plus innings. He is
scheduled to start against Houston on opening day April 1.
Chris Stynes went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Colorado.
Jay Payton was 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Todd Helton had a
single and an RBI.
Brian Corey earned the win for the Dodgers, allowing one hit in
1 1-3 innings.
Steve Colyer pitched a perfect ninth for the save.<
