San Jose ships Heins to Pittsburgh for draft choice

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) The San Jose Sharks traded defenseman
Shawn Heins to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday for a conditional
2003 draft choice.
Heins has one assist and nine penalty minutes in 20 games this
season as the Sharks' physical seventh defenseman.
He has 10 points in 81 career NHL games, but Heins never earned
a regular spot in San Jose's defensive rotation since signing with
the club as a free agent in 1997.
