Julie Krone wins Spensive to another victory on cmeback trail

ALBANY, Calif. (AP) Hall of Famer Julie Krone, aboard the
favored horse Spensive, notched another comeback victory Saturday
to win the $81,075 Gold Rush Stakes at Golden Gate Fields.
Krone found herself aboard Spensive after the scratch of the
early favorite, D's Bertrando. Spensive defeated 25-1 long shot
Always Remember by a head returned $4.40, $3.60 and $3.40 after
crossing the finish line in 1:38.32.
``I didn't know if I'd won or not, but he felt great and really
galloped out strong,'' Krone said. ``I wouldn't mind being back up
here in a few weeks to try the Golden Gate Derby with him.''
Krone returned to riding Nov. 1 after a 3{-year retirement.
Saturday's win was her second in eight days.
On Dec. 7 at Hollywood Park, Krone guided 52-1 Debonair Joe
($107.60) to victory in the Grade III Vernon O. Underwood Handicap.
