Woman who killed boyfriend and teen pleads innocent to murder
charges
Saturday August 16, 2003
LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (AP) A woman accused of stabbing her
boyfriend and killing his 13-year-old son pleaded innocent Friday
to charges that could bring her the death penalty.
Tamara Bohler, 44, of Mission Viejo, entered pleas in Superior
Court to murder, attempted murder, using a weapon and inflicting
great bodily injury, as well as the special circumstance allegation
of murder while lying in wait.
Prosecutors have not decided whether to seek the death penalty.
Bohler has been held without bail since her arrest in connection
with the Fourth of July attacks. Authorities allege that she
stabbed Jean Marc Weber, 45, in the face, throat and chest after he
had invited her to his condominium. Weber's son was killed.
She fled the scene but was later arrested by Orange County
sheriff's deputies.
Deputy Public Defender Shelly Aronson said her client ``had a
complete mental breakdown that would account for anything that
happened or anything she did.''
``It's really a sad case,'' Aronson said. ``She's been
deteriorating mentally for some time.''
Bohler had two drunken driving cases pending against her when
the stabbings occurred, authorities said.
