LOS ANGELES (AP) Actor Michael J. Fox received a star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday.
Fox, best known for his roles in the ``Back to the Future''
movie trilogy and his portrayal of Alex P. Keaton in NBC's ``Family
Ties,'' said he was glad to have brought some happiness into
people's lives.
``It's a great thing to do for a living,'' he said after posing
next to his star on Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Hollywood
Galaxy Theatre complex.
Fox retired from acting in 2000 after revealing that he has
Parkinson's disease. He founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation for
Parkinson's Research, which raises funds to help find a cure for
the disease.
In 2002, he published his autobiography, ``Lucky Man,'' which
spent 21 weeks on The New York Times best seller list.
His production company, Lottery Hill Entertainment, recently
sold a pilot to ABC for a comedy series about a retired hockey
player's transition to fatherhood.
