SEAL BEACH, Calif. (AP) A man wanted for making threats was
fatally shot by police at a shopping center Friday night after he
drove toward them in a sport utility vehicle, officials said.
The man was wanted for making terrorist threats and stalking in
Huntington Beach, said Cpl. Joe Miller of the Seal Beach Police
Department.
The victim's name was not released.
Police spotted the suspect about 7 p.m. in his vehicle outside a
drug store, Miller said. After ordering the vehicle to stop, an
officer approached and ordered the suspect to get out. The man then
drove the SUV toward the officer, who opened fire and shot the
driver to death.
The SUV crashed into two other vehicles at a stop light, Miller
said. There were no other injuries.
