US Attorney seeks Reliant employees' testimony
Wednesday August 13, 2003
SACRAMENTO (AP) Federal prosecutors have subpoenaed testimony
from several employees of Reliant Resources Inc., the Houston-based
energy company said Wednesday.
Reliant spokesman Richard Wheatley said the company included
mention of the subpoenas in its quarterly report filed Wednesday
with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company received
the subpoenas on July 24 from the U.S. attorney for Northern
California and is cooperating with the request, Wheatley said.
The company said it has received subpoenas and informal requests
for information from the U.S. attorneys for Northern California and
the Southern District of New York.
The federal prosecutors were seeking documents, interviews and
other information relating to round-trip trades and former trading
activities, Wheatley said.
``We are cooperating with all inquiries and investigations at
the state and federal level, including those initiated by the
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Attorney and
other agencies,'' Wheatley said.
