1. How to Enter the Contest:
(a) The Hawaiian Holiday Giveaway contest will begin on May 25, 2002 and end on June 7, 2002 .
(b) To participate in the contest, Watch Good Day Sacramento on UPN31 KMAX from 6am to 10am during the period May 28, 2002 through June 6, 2002. A trivia question in reference to the state of Hawaii will be asked during the time specified above. When the contest number is shown on the screen, be the 5th caller with the correct answer to the trivia question and you will automatically be qualified to win the Grand Prize. A viewer can also enter by calling 31 In Touch at 916-766-3100 ext. SAND and answer the trivia question each day (if a viewer calls on a Saturday or Sunday, the trivia question from the previous Friday will need to be answered). A random drawing from the 31 In Touch entries will determine the qualifiers (the number drawn will mirror the amount of people qualified live on Good Day Sacramento).
(c) Limit one entry per household.
(d) Contest sponsors are not responsible for technical or telephone errors of any kind, lost or unavailable telephone connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or incomprehensible telephone connection or telephone message, busy signals, any other technical difficulty or human error that may limit the ability to play, participate or win the contest.
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
(a) The contest is open to California residents over 21 years old. Employees of KMAX, Viacom Inc., Outrigger Hotel & Resorts, Hawaiian Airlines, other television and radio stations in the market, and their affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising agencies and their immediate family members are ineligible to participate or win. The winner must be available to travel within one year of winning the Grand Prize (Outrigger Hotel is booked on a space available basis and Hawaiian Airlines will have black out dates).
(b) Viewers are eligible to win a KMAX contest only once every sixty days. Only one winner per household is permitted in any contest.
(c) Viewers are eligible to win a prize valued at $600.00 or more only once every six months.
(d) All audio taped entries become the sole property of Station and will not be returned. By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and warrant and represent that their entry is their original work, and grant to Station the right to edit, publish, broadcast, promote and otherwise use their entries without further permission, notice or compensation.
(e) No purchase necessary.
3. Prizes:
(a) Two Grand Prizes Winner and a guest will fly round-trip coach airfare from Sacramento to Honolulu, one double occupancy hotel room for a 6 night/seven day stay including taxes, one 1-hour Catamaran cruise for two. Approximate retail value $2,400. (Ground transportation, meals not specified and other incidental expenses are not included.)
(b) All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of KMAX. The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed within five days of winning and an alternate winner may be chosen. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its arrival. KMAX is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.
(c) Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or
redeemed for cash. Station reserves the right to substitute prize of comparable value.
4. Selection of Winners:
(a) During Week One of the contest, UPN31 KMAX will select one Grand Prize winner at random on May 31, 2002, during Good Day Sacramento, from all eligible entries received. The winners name will be superimposed on the screen for 31 minutes. The winner must call Good Day Sacramento at 916-925-6631 or 209-531-1098 within the 31 minutes to claim the prize. If the winner doesnt call within the designated time period he/she is no longer eligible to participate and another name will be drawn and the process will continue until the grand prize is claimed.

(b) Decisions of contest sponsors with respect to the contest are final.
5. Conditions:
(a) Payment of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner and winners may receive an IRS Form 1099 or equivalent from Station.
(b) By participating in the contest, the winner or winners (or, in the case of a minor, their parent/legal guardian) agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest, and to sign a publicity release, affidavit of eligibility and release of liability prior to acceptance of the prize. If a prizewinner is a minor, prize may be awarded to the minor's parent or legal guardian and that winners travel companion must be his/her parent or legal guardian. Travel companion must travel with winner and must also sign and return a travel release, which must be returned with winners affidavit of eligibility. By accepting the prize, each winner and travel companion grants to Station the right to use the winner's and travel companions name, voice, picture and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and publicity in any and all media now known or hereafter invented, without further permission or additional compensation (except where prohibited by law). All expenses on receipt and use of prize, and all federal, state and local taxes, are the sole responsibility of winner. Winner and travel companion, by acceptance of their prizes, agree to release Station, Viacom, Inc., CBS, their respective parents and subsidiaries, officers, directors, shareholders and their respective advertising, promotion and production agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity. Void where prohibited by law.
6. Contest sponsors reserve the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, which will become effective upon announcement.
7. No purchase necessary. The contest is void where prohibited.
8. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestants disqualification.
9. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
